GRUENSFELD/BAD MERGENTHEIM. Beginning of December, the BOHLENDER GmbH invited its employees together with their partner to its traditional year-end ceremony in a special locality, the wildlife park Bad Mergentheim where the “Erdhaus” (house that is built in a mound) offered a pleasant atmosphere.
Before the year-end ceremony started, Volker Bohlender (CEO) had a big surprise for his employees. After the stand-up reception, they went all together to the wolf enclosure, with torches in their hands. Mrs. Hertweck, employee in the wildlife park, informed the audience about the lifestyle and behaviour of the wolf pack with 30 wolves. Some of them showed interesting behaviour to the audience.
After their return to the attractively decorated "Erdhaus" with an open fireplace, the guests warmed themselves and rejuvenated at the great buffet. Afterwards, Volker Bohlender started with his annual review where he stressed the growing and continuous success and considerable growth during the past few years. Targeted marketing campaigns, participation in customer-in-house exhibitions and other trade fairs contributed to the success of the younger brand SICCO besides the already international successful brand BOLA. Through investments in CNC machinery, BOHLENDER´s delivery times could be shortened. However, this has caused lack of space in the existing production hall. This matter was the transition for Volker Bohlender to talk about the future prospects in the coming year 2015. The groundwork for a new production hall has already started. Also the planning for the participation in trade fairs 2015 is finished. The focus will be on trainings for traders in the year-to-come.
"A company´s success always depends of its employees and their motivation", said Volker Bohlender and was pleased to honour some of his long-standing employees: for five years Ignat Spaeth and Martin Haag, for 10 years Heike Bohlender and Torsten Hornung, for 15 years Petra Scherer, for 20 years Viktor Muschanowski and for 30 years Eugen Krass. The entrepreneur warmly welcomed three former apprentices who passed their exams to become Industrial Mechanics and Industrial clerk in spring 2014 and who have taken their position in the company meanwhile. The recruitment of qualified personnel from among its own apprentices is an important part of BOHLENDER´s corporate philosophy. This is why BOHLENDER hired again three new apprentices in 2014. In the meantime, around 70 employees work with the international successful lab specialist.
Volker Bohlender also looked back on many events during the year such as the traditional visit of the witches on Maundy Thursday, the meal with pickled herrings on Ash Wednesday, the table soccer worldcup, the participation in the team run of "Koenigshoefer Fair", the "Ice Bucket Challenge" and so on, which offered great variety from daily routine and strengthened the cooperation amongst the employees.
After his speech, Volker Bohlender handed over his microphone to the former apprentice, Anna Rehfeld, who reported about her passion on dogs, specially race doberman. Finally, the guests used the open fireplace as a comfortable meeting point for long and good conversations until the end of the night.
