Grünsfeld/ Volkach. The whole staff of the BOHLENDER GmbH spent an eventful day together with their president Volker Bohlender in Volkach at the so-called horse-show bend (“Mainschleife”) on Friday 6th July.
After all employees got a t-shirt with the slogan of the day "The big BOHLENDER prize" at the meeting point on the company site in Grünsfeld, they were brought to the lower Franconian wine village Volkach by bus. There were waiting four employees of an event-planning agency having prepared different challenges for teambuilding for the BOHLENDER staff. Six teams got the task to build roadworthy soapboxes from construction kits. They also had to find a name for their racing team, design a racing jump suit and challenge test runs and a Qualifying before the actual race started. During this team challenge, creative vehicles were built which all came through the end. Besides the actual race, technical know-how , team spirit and creativity built the basis of the competition. After a small snack, the big race took place. Two teams started against each other. Funny names such as "The Slow Riders", "The Hell Racers" or the "Race Slugs" lived up to their name. "The Fast Riders" won in the end and celebrated their victory duly with a champagne shower in the award ceremony.
After a short walk, the team boarded on a party float on the no longer navigable Old Main from Astheim to Gerlachshausen. They enjoyed the beautiful wildlife along the horse-shoe bend at best weather eating suckling pig and hearing live music. The captain of the float entertained his guests with funny anecdotes around the horse-shoe bend and the Franconian wine-growing area around Volkach.
After the 3,5 hours-taking float ride, the BOHLENDER team was taken back to Grünsfeld by bus where Volker Bohlender wished his employees a nice weekend.
